Join Julie and I, for a Day Course in Rug Making ...
This day is split into two so you will learn rag rug making (both clippy AND hooky methods) PLUS the second half of the day you will learn how to make a raw fleece peg loom rug.
Date of the Rug Making Course
Saturday 29th November 2025
Time.
10am - 5pm
Bring a bag of rags such as fleeces, hoodies, leggings, t shirts and felts, stretch velvets are good too. Then, after a design session and a practise of two methods; clippy and hooky you can begin your first work of art on hessian. A great way to use up childrens' old clothes to make a memory mat. You can also turn your work into a bag, wallhanging or cushion cover - it doesn't have to be a rug!
- Tools, hessian, wool and peg looms are provided. Though feel free to bring anything you want to add!
- Refreshments are included
- Proper loo and free parking on site
- Please bring a packed lunch.

Where are you based?
We are based in the rural outskirts of York, 12 miles from the city, but we.do work all over. If you are coming here for your glamping, activities or walks/course then we can be found on Google maps HERE
Can I Bring My Dog?
To the wild food walks yes, well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. To the tipi site... Sorry we love animals but we. have a free range sheep, hens and an old labrador. Plus we have a policy of no animals in the units to keep them feeling fresh and ok for allergy sufferers. We are down the road from Storwood Kennels if you need pet boarding.
What if I Can't Make It?
We know you wouldn't want us to cancel on you and hope that you see we book tutors, organise resources and block time out for bookings so we allow you to sell your space on, or gift it to a friend. Or we can offer you online courses and ebooks instead.
