Wild Harvest was a really valued aspect of our Riverside Arts Festival. We aim to provide activities which are accessible to all ages, work with natural or recycled materials and offer participants an opportunity for creative exploration. Wild Harvest brought us all of these things and were also lovely people to have around!

Fantastic weekend at the Self Sufficiency Camp, with a good balance of learning new skills and relaxation. Di is friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable, and her passion is inspiring. Would highly recommend to those looking for a weekend away from the pace of modern life, learning traditional, practical skills and enjoying the natural environment that’s all around us but often overlooked

We really enjoyed the wild food walk. Diane has lots of useful information to share and it’s a great way to spend a Saturday morning. You will learn lots and have fun too!

My experience of Wild Harvest was at Jollydays Campsite for a hen do, where we made beeswax candles and leather bound journals. It was a really positive experience creating something beautiful to enjoy myself or be able to use as a gift. I enjoyed being absorbed in the activity and like the fact that the crafts were accessible and everyone left with an attractive item they had produced, I had immense satisfaction from that. Since then, I have ordered beeswax and have made candles to give to friends.

I had my surprise hen party last weekend here at the lovely Wild Harvest. We camped in the wooden yurts  and had plenty of  & !! The crafts we did were flower crowns and beeswax lip balms, both were so much fun. Di was a wonderful hostess and a lovely teacher, full of knowledge, a very inspirational woman!! I personally loved the log burners  and pizza ovens!! The pizzas we had were gorgeous cooked in the ovens. The kitchen area was spot on!! Loved the eco friendly feel to the setting !! Though it was rainy  and soggy all weekend, I had the best time. The beautiful surroundings, the fantastic setting with all the amenities you’d need, and the company were next to none. The ducks  and chickens  freely wandering added to the atmosphere. I’d love to come again!! Thank you to my gorgeous Hens for arranging and for bringing everything, and thank you to Di

We just wanted to say a huge thank you for such a fantastic weekend on the self-sufficiency craft camp. It was everything we hoped it would be, and more! You made us feel so welcome and relaxed from the minute we arrived and we loved the range of activities that were involved. We’ve come away feeling relaxed and happy to have learned so much, and to have made many new friends 🙂 We’re really impressed with our goody bag of homemade crafts that we got to take home afterwards too! We’ve already enjoyed the candles, ointments and bath bombs since returning home.

I went on a wild foraging walk in York with my 2 young children. Not only was it very interesting, Di was engaging, knowledgeable and able to be patient in her explanations. I have gone on to make my own elderflower cordial and have made wild garlic pesto. The pace and structure of the walk give me the confidence to identify, collect and make use of different wild foods on our doorstep.

I found Diane’s wild food walk inspirational in changing my outlook on weeds such as nettles and dandelions into informative suggestions in preparing these foods for maximum benefit. I went on this wild food walk wanting to expand my knowledge of survival skills for future-proofing oneself in a worst-case scenario and found it to be just what I was looking for. I then went on a basket weaving course a few months later which gave me sense of satisfaction and more confidence in making things from willow and things from nature- which is ultimately where all things come from, so it was nice to re-connect with natural materials with expert guidance. Diane is a very calm and patient teacher. Diane has a real passion for teaching these things as she has lived and breathed self sufficiency for many many years.

We are back from a fabulous weekend staying in the gorgeous teepees at Wild Harvest. The weekend was amazing from sitting round the fire pit, cooking pizzas in the pizza oven to all the lovely little extras Di put on. The kids loved the food foraging adventure and the bath bombing making! I can not recommend this place enough we all thoroughly enjoyed it and cant wait to come back xx

I had a lovely time with my family making crafts with Wild Harvest at the Edible Garden show. Thank you so much for sharing your time and knowledge with us. Wishing you lots of happiness and success.

Your excellent teaching and ability to pass on knowledge has allowed me to produce natural toiletries that are better for my body. You inspired me to look further into natural remedies and I am now producing massage oils for my mum and husband which aim to ease their arthritis.

travelled in each day from York which is only a 20 minute drive away. At the end of the weekend it is lovely to take home the variety of things we made. I personally found the experience very exciting, empowering and already (two days after returning home) am considering going on another course to learn more and make more new friends.

The weekend was packed with a number of sessions, which included different crafts, foraging and fire making. Di is a wonderful host, making sure each of us were well looked after, providing us all with comprehensive practical experience relating to each session. Di has a very calming influence and demonstrates a deep knowledge and experience about each craft and foraging.

Just had my hen do at wild harvest, it was lovely so homely and would recommend to everyone.

Di and her staff are lovely and if you needed help at all they would move the world to help. The actives where great and loved making my own fire and sitting with friends and family.

I went for the willow basket weaving day. It was very well run and friendly and covered a lot of material in one day, with instruction on making the base, side and border of a round basket. All 5 of us left with complete baskets and I even got to put a handle on mine, I’m very happy with it!

I throughly enjoyed the foraging walk in York. As a newbie to the world of foraging I found it informative and inspiring. I’ve learned that I already have things in my garden I can forage. Looking forward to doing more courses with you.
