We have been running rural crafts courses and self-sufficiency related training for many years at Wild Harvest, and over time we have been able to put together a list of Frequently Asked Questions or FAQs that may be of use to new customers.

Can I bring my Dog?

Sorry no, we keep the tipi accommodation animal free, also there are free range hens and duck and our own dogs on the farm so its best you get a friend to pet sit. 

What cooking facilities are there at Wild Harvest Tipi Site?

There is a two ring gas hob in the outdoor kitchenette, a drop down grill over the fire for BBQ-ing, a stock pot for hanging over the fire and two wood fired pizza ovens.

Can I get a grocery delivery to Wild Harvest?

Yes, please use the address in the footer and unload the shopping in your pantry/fridge room.  Most major supermarkets deliver to us.

Can you collect us from York train station?

No, because of laws regarding passenger safety and insurance we are not permitted to transport customers.

What taxi companies do you recommend for going into York?

We recommend Streamline taxis York, Fleetways York and Anytime travel York (for bigger posher minibuses).  Our address for collection is in the footer below.

Can I get bring my bike to Wild Harvest?

If you choose to cycle we have a bike shed and barn storage for bikes.  

Are the facilities suitable for wheelchair users?
All facilities are on ground level however there may be some uneven surfaces as this is a farm. Please call in advance to discuss your specific needs.
Is food included?

Refreshments are included on all full day courses but please bring a packed lunch.  On our self-reliance crafts retreats lunches and refreshments are included.  For our bite sized sessions of 1 – 1.5 hours – no food or drink is included but you may bring your own.

Is there ample free parking?
Yes – we have plenty of parking spaces.
Can I have a refund if I can’t make it?

If you cancel more than two weeks from the start date AND we manage to resell your place/stay, you can have a full refund less the costs of payment processing and re-advertising.  For our bite sized activities we are unable to refund your course fees as we would need a part time staff member to deal with number changes to bookings so please make sure you are free before you book.  You may transfer to another course (once) or give your place to a friend.  Hopefully you can join us though – we will miss you!

Is there a fridge?

Yes there is a tall slimline fridge freezer empty for your sole use.  There will be ice packs ready in the freezer.

Is there Wi-Fi at Wild Harvest?
Yes there is free unlimited WiFi – just ask for the password!
Is there mobile phone reception?
There is partial coverage the extent of which depends on your network. There is a landline for emergency calls.
Can I bring my child to a course at Wild Harvest?
The venue and activities are not suitable for small children unless it is a specific family/children’s course.  Older children are welcome to hang out.
