Basket Weaving and Wild Food Foraging
Wild Harvest has taught basket weaving for over a decade. In this fun comprehensive one day course suitable for beginners you will learn to weave a beautiful round willow basket. Participants will discover facts about the harvesting and preparation of the materials then gain experience of two types of different weave. Finishing off with a pretty border and optional handle. After the baskets are finished there is an opportunity to take your basket on a wild food foraging walk by the picturesque East Cottingwith canal to identify about 25 edible plants in a two hour stroll. Free camping available in the garden if needed. If the date of the course does not suit please contact us to arrange one at your convenience (midweek) for you and a friend.

Wild Harvest has taught rag-rugging for over a decade. Once you learn to rag rug you will never have to throw away old clothes and can instead turn them into beautiful rugs, wall hangings, cushion covers or bags! In this fun one day course suitable for beginners you will discover some rag-rugging basics and then try your hand at two different methods. After a session on design you will begin creating your first rag-rug (or cushion cover). Before you leave you will be shown how to finish your rug off at home and can take home any rags you need to complete your rug. Materials and refreshments are provided please bring a packed lunch and any old clothes you wish to use.
