Family Sustainable Living Weekend
Join a small group of other like-minded families to experience a weekend of off-grid living. Spend two nights in a tipi heated by a wood-burner* and lit by candles stretch your eyes out of your tipi door across the fields and relax. Listen to talks about Permaculture, Wild Medicine, Making your own Natural Toiletries and Natural Beekeeping.

Go foraging for wild food, do workshops to make natural and useful personal and household items such as bath and body products, candles, leather pouch, rag-rug, and mushroom log, have a go at making a bee skep and a basket, learn to light fire-by-friction using just the materials around you and have a go at instinctive archery with our beautiful wooden bows. Make home-made butter and bread to bake in the wood fired oven.Gr

Only £170 per family of up to four inc two nights tipi accomm. and two meals each*
*Two single parents can get together to make up one family tipi.
Age is from 7 years because we have no fire guards on stoves and to benefit from the full range of activities on offer.
Optional things to do, wild swim in the canal, read books in the sun from our bookshelves on self-sufficiency, chat with other parents. We will have a party called Tribe for our friends on Saturday night and Family Sustainable Living Weekend people are welcome to attend as by then you will be our friends! Hopefully like last year there’ll be djembe drumming, pizza making and acoustic music (so bring your guitar!).
Bedding is provided plus eco washing-up liquid and shower gel, loo roll and candles.
There are sockets in the communal hut for phones etc. though it is hoped you will leave these in your car unless for pictures!
Cutlery and plates are provided.
Large cooler box for food.
House rules to be aware of before you book at Wild Harvest Family Sustainable Living Weekend:
There is a £50 refundable deposit per tipi for damages payable at the time of booking.
No food or drink in the tipis to keep them feeling nice and clean for you.
No wipes or sanitary products in our compost loo.
No stereo music.
No muddy boots in the tipis.
The wood on site is limited to the correct amount per family any further wood and candles can be purchased.
